At The Old Rectory care home we asses an individual’s needs to ensure the best possible care is provided for them. We personalise our care to create a diverse and respected environment, with our carers on hand 24/7 to assist and support individuals. Due to the small size of the home our carers develop a familiar and affectionate relationship with service users, creating a family-like setting within the home. Our dedicated team is well-trained and knowledgeable, with many of our employees being part of the team for over a decade.
Facilities at The Old Rectory Care Home
The Old Rectory is set in the beautiful rural village of Fradswell, a tranquil setting with panoramic views or the surrounding countryside.
The beautiful gardens are well maintained and secure so that service users can make full use of the grounds. We encourage residents to take a stroll and assist with gardening should they desire.
Whilst our building is not purpose-built all bedrooms are beautiful and homely. We ensure each person’s room is individualised to make our residents feel comfortable and at home, with family photos, decorations, and memorabilia.
We have open, bright communal spaces; alongside a smaller cosier lounge.
Each bedroom has a personalised memory board on the door to the stage of time the service user is currently living in; this is to assist people to recognise their rooms and promote independence.
Care Team
Our experienced and skilled care team are committed to creating a helpful and warm environment within the home. The Care Manager Charlotte works with the team to ensure independence and dignity is maintained for service users, and all members feel supported.
The team at The Old Rectory care home are empathetic and kind, offering around the clock care. Our carers are also highly trained and specialise in dementia care, this is to ensure they can cater for the complex needs of our residents.
Mealtimes
At The Old Rectory we encourage sociable mealtimes in the dining area. We understand that some residents prefer to eat in their own rooms, and this too is catered for. Our chefs offer a choice for each meal, offering high-quality and tasty home cooked foods. We are also able to provide for multiple and complex dietary needs. During mealtimes our carers are there to assist service users with any needs they may have.
Activities
Our activities co-ordinator organises a diverse and individualised set of activates throughout the week, adapted to meet all capabilities. Our activities range from colouring, arts and crafts and baking to bowling, bingo and quizzes. We also have regular events organised for our service users to encourage socialising and well-being, in the past these events have been Alice and Wonderland Tea Party, England football social and Easter events. HR Carehomes also has a bus which enables us to organise days out for our service users.
Quality of Service
The Old Rectory is home to chickens, which we encourage our residents to take part in taking care of and regularly going to see. Many of our individuals also enjoy walking around the garden, sitting in the summer house, apple picking and assisting with the gardening.
All residents are encouraged to have a voice and provide feedback to the home; we hold regular resident meetings to ensure happiness for everyone and increase our quality of service.
